An Exceedingly Rare Sign, Even More Rare In This Nice Condition! The Coke items you see listed in my auctions come from one of the more prolific collections of quality Coca-Cola merchandise on the West Coast. Many will know and remember my father, Larry, as he amassed a vast array of collectibles over a twenty-year period, attending many of the country's high-end antique and collectibles shows, antique shops, and the Pacific Northwest Coke Collector's Club, where many interesting items were discovered.

Because quality was of great importance to him, not only will you find some rare items within my listings, but you find those items are in wonderful condition, as well. It wasn't enough to track down something that was rare, but it had to look amazing, too. Premium prices were always paid for impeccable merchandise, but it's simply the most ideal way to collect. Not only are those pieces more pleasing to the eye, but they are always better investments. This sign can be found in Petretti's latest book on page 212. The sign shown above it on that page, while also rare, shows up much more than this one. In fact, it took my dad ten or so years to track this one down, in a condition he was happy with (and he is usually SUPER picky about condition). That being said, this isn't mint, but this was the absolute best he could find - even the example in the Schmidt Museum paled by comparison to this one. So while this does have wear, it still displays nicely - it is so rare that he was happy overall with the condition on this one, despite the light scuffs / scratches and edge / paint wear in places.

There are also a couple small rubs at the top where a bit of color is lost. If tilted into a light source, you can see that the finish has dulled some, with general scuffing over the surface. There are other general marks from age noticeable, so I tried to show these the best I could in the photos below. All of this said, this sign still displays extremely well, especially since there are no glaring dents or tears that distract from the focal point of this rare piece.
