Exide Batteries Vintage 1947 Embossed Tin Metal Sign 48x18 Battery Porcelain

This piece is a single sided embossed metal sign, which measures 48" x 18". I believe the code in the right corner dates this sign to 1947, making it one of the earlier ones. Not a very common sign, great for any advertising / automobilia collector. As the photos show, the sign is in good vintage condition with some wear, which I have described in detail down below in the condition section. I took a bunch of close up photos to show the condition accurately, so please make sure to view them all.

The sign has been displayed outside for many years, so it has faded/dulled with age, but it presents very well because it is clean and not rusted.

Some paint flaking / loss which can be seen, mostly on the outer edges and by the dot of the "i". A few small bends on the outer edges, and a couple extra mounting holes were added at some point. Overall a very displayable sign, pretty tough to find size/age. Probably was shiny back in the day, but it is still clean and reads beautifully. Great addition to any collection.
