You're looking at a rare and early tin tacker shoe repair advertising trade sign dating to approx 1900 - 1920s. This rare piece is not a reproduction and is the real deal in superb condition. This sign was manufactured by A. Van Voorhies of Sacramento, CA.
Voorhies was established in 1850 and made saddles for the Pony Express. The company changed its name in 1920s so this sign pre-dates the name change. The graphics and embossed lettering are excellent. This piece has not moved around a lot as evidenced by the clean mounting holes. There are a couple of dings and dents but otherwise it's in superb condition. Structurally, it's solid and ready to be hung. Measures approx: 23 1/2" tall x 17 3/8" wide.
